Hisses to Purrs
About Hisses to Purrs
Hisses to Purrs was started in 2021 by a woman and her mother who, through their love of cats, became involved in various cat rescues from 2019. After a while, they noticed a gap in cat rescue in the southern suburbs of Adelaide. While many rescues combine rescuing street cats with surrendered or abandoned cats and kittens, none (that they could tell) solely focused on street cats and cat colonies. With ever-increasing kittens born on the street each year, Hisses to Purrs was born to do their little part to combat the growing population of street cats in the southern area. Instead of following in most other rescues' footsteps, Hisses to Purrs strictly focuses on street cats and cat colonies. While we are only taking kittens and their mothers at this stage, we hope to take adult and junior cats in the future as we sign on more foster carers.
All kittens on this page can be met at their foster carers' homes.
Please contact us to book an appointment if you would like to meet one of our kittens.

Zadie is a purry little girl who loves attention and being picked up for cuddles. If you'd love a kitty to sleep with you at night, Zadie is the girl for you! She loves nothing more than snuggling up next to your head and helping you drift off to sleep with the sound of her purr. Zadie is also a playful kitten and will provide you with endless hours of entertainment by running around the house chasing toys and acting crazy. She loves playing with her foster sibling so would be great with a kitty friend.
Zadie is a bit special as she has an adorable little overbite that gives her the cutest little duck face. She'll need to have her bottom canines removed when she's 6-7 months old which will be covered for Zadie's adopters providing they attend the rescue vet.
She's honestly such a gorgeous, funny girl who will make a great addition to any family!
Zadie has been:
- Tried with cats and is great with them
- Untried with children (but is social enough that she should be fine with them)
